Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are excited to welcome you to the vibrant city of Lisbon for the upcoming 51st meeting of SENP Société Européene de Neurologie Pédiatrique, which will take place at 14 and 15th March 2025 at NOVA Medical School in Lisbon.
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is a city steeped in history and brimming with charm. Known for its stunning architecture, from the ancient streets of Alfama to the majestic Belém neighborhood, Lisbon offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern vitality. The city’s rich cultural heritage is evident in its fado music, historic tram rides, and delectable cuisine—where fresh seafood and traditional pastries like the famous *pastel de nata* are sure to delight.
But Lisbon is not just about its history and culture. As one of Europe’s sunniest capitals, it boasts a high quality of life and a dynamic, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Its location by the Atlantic Ocean adds a unique charm, offering beautiful coastal views and access to nearby beaches, making it an ideal place to visit.
Portugal has a proud tradition in the medical sciences, and Lisbon, in particular, has made significant contributions to Neurology. Among its most distinguished figures is Professor Egas Moniz, a neurologist and Nobel laureate in Medicine, who was awarded the prize in 1949 for his groundbreaking work in the development of cerebral angiography and the prefrontal leucotomy. His pioneering efforts have left an indelible mark on the field of Neurology and continue to influence neurological practices worldwide.
This combination of rich culture, modern infrastructure, and a strong tradition in neurological sciences makes Lisbon an ideal city to host the meeting of SENP that will focus on Movement Disorders, Neurodegeneration, Neuroprotection and Repair. We anticipate that this congress will be a tremendous success, offering an opportunity for meaningful exchanges and collaborations in an unforgettable setting.
On behalf of the Société Européene de Neurologie Pédiatrique and the Portuguese Society of Pediatric Neurology, we invite you to join us in Lisbon and extend our warmest welcome to what promises to be an outstanding congress.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lisbon!
