WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENTS

Jean-Michel Foucart
President of the French Orthodontic Days Organizing Committee
Dear Friends,
Since their creation in 1998, the French Orthodontics Days have constantly reinvented themselves, evolving from a national event to an essential European scientific reference. This 27th edition is fully in line with this dynamic, continuing our demanding quest for quality care and strengthening our international outlook: “Perfection, no; excellence, yes!”
This year, the program is even richer with French-speaking, European, and global sessions, affirming our desire to share knowledge and promote exchanges between professionals from around the world. Innovation, research, and clinical practices will be at the heart of our discussions, with more than 40 scientific sessions alternating between conferences, workshops, and interactive debates. A unique “battle” session will also allow opposing concepts to be confronted and encourage lively discussions on key topics in our discipline.
But the French Orthodontics Days are not just a scientific event, they are also a human adventure and an experience to be shared. We will have the privilege of welcoming Thierry Marx, multi-starred chef, who will inspire us with his vision of excellence, precision work, and knowledge transfer.
We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to our industry partners, whose unfailing support helps make this event a success. Their presence is a wonderful opportunity to discuss the latest technological innovations and advances that are transforming our practice.
Take advantage of these meetings to discover, share, and enrich your vision of the future of orthodontics.
As every year, this event is made possible thanks to the unfailing commitment of numerous volunteers and a dedicated secretariat. But above all, it is you who bring this congress to life through your presence, your discussions, and your commitment. We are counting on you to make this edition an even greater success!
Join us to celebrate orthodontics together, deepen our knowledge, and forge ever stronger bonds between us.
Welcome to the 27th French Orthodontics Days!

Michel Le Gall
President of the Scientific Committee of the French Orthodontic Days
Dear colleagues,
Yes, here we are again for a second round in our tireless, even obsessive, quest for excellence in orthodontics. Why? Because after discovering the extent of our challenges last year, we decided it was best to return to the fray, this time armed with an even richer and more ambitious program. After all, if perfection has once again slipped through our fingers, excellence can only be waiting for us!
For this second and final year on this theme, I offer you a distillation of science, practice, and—rest assured—humor. Here is a preview of the topics that I hope will spark your curiosity (and sometimes concern):
- Symmetrical mastication in children and adults: so that our patients no longer bite crookedly... and so that we finally understand why (it's about time!).
- Class II subdivision: why are there so many failures?: don't panic, we'll find a way to succeed (or justify our failures).
- Words from legal experts: or how to prevent an orthodontic disagreement from ending up in court (with a judge tougher than a patient in the waiting room).
- Artificial Intelligence: when AI claims to plan treatment better than we do... Suspense guaranteed!
- From preview to accurate results: or the art of not “selling dreams” to our patients (while dreaming a little ourselves).
- Compromise without compromising: a topic that speaks to anyone who juggles aesthetic, functional, and temporomandibular requirements.
- Medical contexts in children: because sometimes orthodontics is just the tip of the medical iceberg.
- Open bites: can surgery be avoided? Spoiler alert: it depends (yes, we love that answer).
- Care for patients aged 30 to 50: it's never too late to break free from your braces... er, get your teeth back on track.
- The orthodontics of tomorrow: a little crystal ball to see if we'll one day be treating patients with holograms.
- Special dental conditions in children: MIH, anomalies, anything that requires subtlety... and sometimes a touch of magic.
- Multi-braces and aligners: the limitations of each technique: we're not going to conclude that the future lies in a mix of wire and plastic... are we?
- The biology of periodontics: a reminder that our best ally (or worst enemy) is the gum.
- Severe Class II cases: when a simple 3/16 elastic band can no longer save the day.
- Soft tissue evolution – myth or reality?: what if the cheek also wanted its share of glory in orthodontics?
- Asymmetries: because we love nothing more than puzzles.
- Apnea and Cleft Palate Committees: focus on the keys to excellence in interdisciplinary coordination of care. Ideal for our patients... and for maintaining peace with our colleagues!
- Rare Diseases Committee: because some cases are so unusual that we sometimes feel more like adventurers than orthodontists! When you come across a patient with an anomaly that occurs once in a century, we promise that the committee will have a story (and protocols) to share so that you don't feel alone on your diagnostic raft.
And because a conference should also be a time for conviviality, we will be able to share our best clinical anecdotes, celebrate our successes, but also put our (minor) mistakes into perspective. Between us, who has never felt their heart sink when placing a multi-attachment at 7 p.m. on a Friday evening?
So, are you ready to continue on the path to excellence? Rest assured, even if perfection remains elusive, we will at least have the satisfaction of knowing that we did everything we could to get there. After all, it is this healthy determination that makes our profession so beautiful.
On that note, I look forward to seeing you in Paris in November 2025 to experience this scientific apotheosis together... and a little (a lot) of celebration. See you soon!
