The World Allergy Congress (WAC) invites you to submit an abstract to be considered for inclusion in the Scientific Program of the World Allergy Congress 2019. Accepted abstracts will be presented in either thematic Poster Sessions, Oral Communication Sessions or Case Reports.
Please carefully read the Abstract Guidelines below before submitting an abstract. Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through this web page.
It is the author's responsibility to submit a correctly edited and accurate abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.
Abstracts will be rejected if they contain no data or if the English is unacceptable. All Presenting Authors will receive detailed presentation guidelines when their abstract has been accepted and closer to the Congress.
Acknowledgement of the receipt of abstract submission will be sent to the Presenting Author's email address immediately upon submission. In addition, all communication in regards to the Scientific Program, acceptance and presentation will be communicated using the Presenting Author’s email.
ABSTRACT GUIDELINES COMMON TO ALL SUBMISSION
_ The abstract must be written and presented in English.
_ Abstracts must contain original data and meet international ethics standards.
_ Case reports that include findings that are significant and have applied appropriate statistical and analytical methods will be considered.
_ Previously published and presented abstracts can be submitted, but will not be published in the WAO Journal.
_ A maximum of 2,500 characters (approximately 400 words) is allowed for the abstract text.
_ The abstract title must be in lower case with no full stop (or period) at the end and no underlining.
_ Tables and graphs should not be included in the abstract.
_ References (maximum of 2) can be included in the body of the text. The reference style Vancouver US must be used see example below

The abstract should be organized as such: Background, Method, Results, and Conclusion.
EXAMPLE
A) Background: A statement of purpose of the study (preferably one sentence).
B) Methods: A brief statement of the methods used. For abstracts reporting clinical research, a sentence or phrase presenting the most important selection criteria for subjects should be included.
C) Results: A summary of the results presented in sufficient detail with statistical analysis to support the conclusions.
D) Conclusion: A statement of the conclusions reached. It is not satisfactory to state, "the results will be discussed," or "other data will be presented," etc.

- Organization of the abstract for Case Reports
The WAC 2019 welcomes well-described reports of cases that include the following:
- Unreported or unusual side effects or adverse interactions involving medications.
- Unexpected or unusual presentations of a disease.
- New associations or variations in disease processes.
- Presentations, diagnoses and/or management of new and emerging diseases.
- An unexpected association between diseases or symptoms.
- An unexpected event in the course of observing or treating a patient.
- Findings that shed new light on the possible pathogenesis of a disease or an adverse effect.
Case reports submitted to the WAC 2019 should make a contribution to medical knowledge and must have educational value or highlight the need for a change in clinical practice or diagnostic/prognostic approaches.
Authors are encouraged to describe how the case report is rare or unusual as well as its educational and/or scientific merits
The abstract should be organized as such: Introduction, Case Report, Conclusion.

D) Conclusion: Findings that shed new light on clinical management or pathogenesis of the disease

Changes to abstracts are accepted up to the submission deadline by using the abstract submission website. After September 16, 2019 no changes or revisions will be allowed.
- Notification of Acceptance
Notification of acceptance/rejection will be emailed by, or shortly after, September 25, 2019. The Presenting Author will receive all correspondence regarding the abstract status, presentation type, date and time, via the email provided in the abstract submission.
Accepted Abstract Authors will have their abstract published as a supplement to the WAO Journal, which is an online open access journal.
We remind authors that all accepted abstracts will be checked for plagiarism.
o By checking this box, the authors confirm they have obtained written, informed consent of patients (or parents of children and adolescents) to publish their cases.
WAO cannot guarantee that Presenting Authors who do not show up during the session will be accepted for abstract presentations at future meetings.
