Professor Mark Cook is Melbourne-based neurologist who is highly qualified with many years of experience in the treatment of movement disorders, especially in the field of epilepsy.
Professor Cook is recognised internationally for his expertise in epilepsy management, particularly imaging and surgical planning. He also has clinical interests in neuromuscular disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
After completing specialist training in Melbourne, Mark wrote a medical doctorate thesis while working in the UK as a brain research fellow at Queen Square, London. He returned to St Vincent’s Hospital, as the Professor and Director of Neurology and under his leadership it has become one of the largest units in Australia for the surgical treatment of epilepsy.
More recently, his interests have included experimental models of epilepsy and seizure prediction. He is currently Chair of Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital.
