Pariya SALAMI

Pariya Salami, PhD is an Instructor in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Salami obtained her doctorate degree at Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, working on animal models of epilepsy, investigating mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis and ictogenesis through studying variability in interictal spikes and high-frequency oscillation. She later joined Massachusetts General Hospital and pursued her research in identifying electrophysiological biomarkers to distinguish between different seizure types in patients. Her research focuses on understanding the differences between seizure types and developing methods to uncover how seizures may differ in their initiation, propagation, and termination, with a view toward developing patient-specific care.
