Dylan TAYLOR

Documentary Maker, Ex-Rugby Player, Patient Advocate
After a concussion ended his early rugby career, Dylan has been left with persisting symptoms for over 6 years. He has since travelled the world trying to recover, speaking with specialists, visiting clinics, and researching the effective treatment of post-concussion symptoms. After a nightmare of navigating poor care pathways and dead ends, he finally found solutions. Now, he is the creator of Tackling Concussion, a documentary to raise public awareness for effective concussion treatment and management. His aim – to protect the longevity of contact sport and help the many needlessly suffering across the world.
Presentation
For over 6 years I have experienced the symptoms of concussion every single day. One small head knock in a rugby game changed my life and I have been trying to recover ever since.
But I am not here to lament over my troubles, to point fingers or lay blame. After years of searching, I began to heal, and I realised that effective research into the treatment and management of concussion does exist – it is just all too hard to find.
And so Tackling Concussion was born, a documentary and movement to share the work of clinicians, researchers, and specialists with the public, and update the world’s understanding of concussion.
With better education, access to care, and focus on brain health in sport, I believe that all persistent symptoms of concussion could be prevented. I even hope to play rugby again one day.
