Ivan Rektor
Ivan Rektor is a Professor of neurology at the Masaryk University, Brno, and Multimodal and Functional Imaging Research Group Leader at Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) Neuroscience Centre. His research interest has been focused on epilepsy, in particular SEEG and DBS recordings, movement disorders, cognitive neurophysiology and imaging. He worked on the Papio papio baboon myoclonus in Gif sur Yvette, France from 1984 to 1990. From 1990 to 1992 he was teaching at the Université Paris VII and performed research with the intracerebral recordings at Ste Anne Hospital, Paris. He served as the Chair of Neurology Department in St. Anna University Hospital (1992- 2012) and vice-rector of the Masaryk University ( 20096-2011) in Brno. He chaired International Congresses on Epilepsy Brain and Mind in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2018. Since 2008 he is hosting ILAE International Teaching Courses on Epilepsy Surgery in Brno. He served as the President of the European Society for Clinical Neuropharmacology (2008 – 2012). He was elected to American Neurological Association as Corresponding Member in 2010. He was awarded ILAE European Award for Education in Epileptology in 2014 and Ambassador for Epilepsy in 2017. He was member of European Board, IFCN form 2015 – 2019. He was chairing the European Congress in Clinical Neurophysiology, Brno 2015.
