Dr Galanopoulou is an MD (Athens, Greece), PhD (McGill University, Canada), Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience and Director of the Laboratory of Developmental Epilepsy at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, chair of the Neurobiology Commission of the ILAE, co-chair of the ILAE/AES Joint Translational Research Task Force, and co-Editor-in-Chief of Epilepsia Open. Her lab investigates mechanisms and treatments for epilepsies across the lifespan with special focus on infantile spasms and post-traumatic epilepsy. Dr Galanopoulou received the ILAE Ambassador for Epilepsy Award (2015) and the Saul R. Korey Award in Translational Science and Medicine (2017)
