ALBA TRISTAN NOGUERO

Alba obtained her degree in Biology in 2011 at the University of Barcelona.

In 2012 she completed a Master in Genetics at the University of Barcelona.

She did her master project in the Department of Genetics at the University of Barcelona focused on the genetics of autism and cocaine dependence.

On 2019 she obtatined her PhD (cum laude) with the work entitled “Tyrosine hydroxylase Deficiency: Studies in patient samples and in a cellular model”

She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute in Àngels García-Cazorla’s laboratory investigating neurotransmiter defects in pediatric patients. Focusing especially on Tyrosine Hydroxylase Deficiency (THD), a rare genetic defect that causes infantile parkinsonism.

The researcher also collaborates with Antonella Consiglio's laboratory at IDIBELL characterizing a model of THD based on stem cells to better understand the pathophysiology of this disorder to find new therapeutic approaches.
