HELFFERICH Jelte

 

After finishing my residency in 2021, I started working as a pediatric neurologist at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands, specializing in acute infectious and inflammatory conditions of the nervous system. In 2023, I obtained my PhD-degree on ‘acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) and enterovirus D68’. As a member of the international AFM working group and the European non-polio enterovirus network (ENPEN), I aim to improve surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment of AFM and associated viruses in Europe.
