Professor Klepper is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities in the area of Glut 1 Deficiency Syndrome (Glut1DS) and speaks at many international conferences. His main field of work are disorders of brain energy metabolismand ketogenic dietary therapies in children. He trained with Dr. De Vivo at Columbia University, NYC on Glut1DS, etablished awareness of this entity in Europe, and is currently Head of Paediatrics at Aschaffenburg Childrens‘ Hospital, Germany. Recently he coordinated the first 2020 international consensus and state-of-the-art review on Glut1DS. Research interests are mechanisms and adverse effects of ketogenic dietary therapies., as well as establishing international protocols for the use of ketogenic dietary treatment in epilepsy, metabolic disorders, and beyond.
