Welcome
The Sixtheenth International Vasculitis & ANCA Workshop will take place April 14-17, 2013, at the"Institut des Cordeliers" in Paris.
President's Address
Welcome to Paris!
The French Vasculitis Study Group and the local Organizing Committee is proud to organize the 16th International Vasculitis and ANCA Workshop. Over the past 3 decades, much progress has been made in the field of vasculitis. Since the discovery of ANCA, the pathogeneses of vasculitides are better understood and treatment strategies have improved. ANCA testing has taken a major place in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients, and new biomarkers are now being studied for diagnosis, prognosis and classification purposes. Therapeutic trials focusing on the optimization of conventional therapies and the evaluation of new drugs have dramatically modified the prognoses of these diseases and patients’ outcomes.
The 2013 congress will take place 25 years after the first meeting, organized by Alan Wiik and Niels Rasmussen, that was held in Copenhagen.
This International Vasculitis and ANCA Workshop will give us the opportunity to meet physicians involved in vasculitis care, exchange opinions and discuss new projects. The major aspects of the vasculitis field will be explored, taking into consideration and comparing the points of view of clinicians and basic researchers, and physicians and patients.
I sincerely hope that you will be able to participate in this stimulating meeting.
With my best regards,
Professor Loïc Guillevin, Congress PresidentWelcome to Paris!
