IMPORTANT: the 3 tours proposed require a minimum number of participants.

If the number of participants is not reached, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the tours. All paid fees will be refunded.

Schedule: 13h00 - 19h00

Services: transport by grand tour coach, English speaking guide, lunch and visits

Departure by bus from Biarritz to the city center of Bayonne (district of Petit Bayonne) and typical lunch in a cider house.

 

                      

 

After lunch, head to Espelette for a discovery of this typical village, nestled in a nest of greenery at the foot of the Mondarrain.

The white and flower-filled gabled and corbelling houses give Espelette a typical style that earned him several distinctions. The gastronomic fame of Espelette spreads throughout France thanks to its famous peppers!

Tasting regional products.

 

Continuation for the visit of another emblematic village of the Basque Country, Ainhoa.

Aïnhoa is certainly one of the most endearing Basque villages.

The half-timbered facades, the corbelled floors create harmony and an original composition and make it a village of character. Aïnhoa is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France.

Departure by bus from Biarritz to the village of Arcangues and lunch at the trinquet restaurant.

 

 

After lunch, direction Saint-Jean-de-Luz.

You will leave in the footsteps of privateers, stories of sailors and large families of shipowners,

not to mention Louis XIV who celebrated his wedding with the Infanta Maria Theresa of Spain in 1660 in this former whaling port.

A 45-minute boat ride from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, offering a panoramic view of the Basque Corniche, with the Pyrenees in the background.

Departure by bus from Biarritz towards the Pinodiéta pass (179m above sea level).


Picnic lunch after a short walk.


Cross-border domain between the Spanish Navarre and the French Labourd, the country of Xareta joins the villages of Zugarramurdi and Urdax 

on one side of the border, and further north, Sare and Aïnhoa, ranked among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". 

 


 

This splendid territory with rugged topography, dense vegetation,

and confusing trails naturally encouraged "night work" or smuggling.

 


Itinerary suggested:

Climb to the Col des Trois Croix, mount Erebi for a magnificent viewpoint

then descent to the village of Aïnhoa. 


Positive elevation gain of 400m is about 1h30 climb.
 

 

Visit the village of Aïnhoa (about 30 minutes) before returning to Biarritz
