Workshop 1 - Maximising the investibility of Intellectual Property rights
•
Conference Room 35/36 - Level 3
Hosted by PRV, the Swedish Patent & Registration Office & co-hosted by Potter Clarkson
Patents and other intellectual property rights (IPRs) are crucial to the success of most life sciences ventures. As a result, a robust and effective IPR portfolio is often a prerequisite to attracting investment.
In this session, Dr Andy Sanderson and Dr Tony Proctor (European Patent Attorneys at Potter Clarkson LLP) will first outline the core strategies for maximising the strength of IP Portfolios. Next, Ann‑Sofie Sternås EPA (Vice President of IPR at Karolinska Development) will provide an investor’s perspective on IPRs – what do investors look for in an IPR portfolio and what are the common IP weakness seen in candidate investments? Dr Eskil Söderlind of Bulb Intelligence AB (formerly the head of business development BioInvent AB and Investment director at LU Bioscience AB) will then discuss his experience of using IP as a tool for attracting investment. The talks will close with a Q&A session.
Moderator: Dr. Andy Sanderson, European Patent Attorney at Potter Clarkson LLP
