Content : Mastitis is still the most costly disease for the dairy industry all wide world. Most of the cases, subclinical and clinical, are caused by mastitis pathogens. However, there are risk factors that increase the incidence of the disease when they are present on the herds. Nutritional and metabolic disorders, especially in fresh cows, have been associated with a higher risk of mastitis around calving. This lecture seeks for providing up-to-date information about the association between cow nutrition and mastitis.
