ACS Nano session Award
Tue. 30 Aug. 14:30-16:00 & 16:40-18:00, room Stendhal

The ACS Nano Lectureship Awards honor the contributions of scientists whose work has significantly impacted the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Three award recipients from around the globe will be honored in 2016, with one awardee each from the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia/Pacific.

ACS Nano is pleased to announce the three winners of the 2016 ACS Nano Lectureship Awards. The winners are Prof. Lifeng Chi for the Asia/Pacific region, Prof. Christopher Murray for the Americas, and Prof. Andrea Ferrari for Europe/Africa/Middle East. All are frequent contributors and advisors to ACS Nano.

Prof. Lifeng Chi is a professor at Soochow University. Her research focuses on supramolecular chemistry on surfaces, in particular molecular assembly and reactions, molecular patterning, and structured functional surfaces.

Prof. Christopher Murray is a Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the integration of precise nanocrystals into devices and technologies.

Prof. Andrea Ferrari is Professor and Director of the Cambridge Graphene Centre at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on carbon nanomaterials and he is a pioneer in the study of graphene.

Held in Autumn 2016, the NanoCar Race is the first-ever race of molecule-cars.

The NanoCar Race is a race where molecular machines compete on a nano-sized track. A NanoCar is a single molecule-car that has wheels and a chassis... and is propelled by a small electric shock.

The race will be invisible to the naked eye: a unique microscope based in Toulouse, France, will make it possible to watch the competition. The NanoCar race is mostly a fantastic human and scientific adventure that will be broadcast worldwide.
